Although it seems the school year just began, parent/teacher conferences start next week.
Conferences at Greene County High School will be Thursday, Oct. 11, from 4 to 9 pm. Middle school conference will be Tuesday, Oct. 16, and Thursday, oct. 18 from 4 to 7:30 pm both dates. Elementary parent/teacher conferences are slated for Tuesday, Nov. 13 and Thursday, Nov. 15, from 4 to 7:30 each day.
School superintendent Tim Christensen encourages parents/guardians to take advantage of conferences to meet and talk with teachers. “Even though a tremendous amount of student grade information is available in Infinite Campus, it is still extremely valuable to attend conferences,” Christensen said. “Conferences help build positive relationships between parents/guardians and teachers. These positive relationships are extremely important in providing the best educational opportunities for students.”
Christensen reminds parents that the vision/mission of the Greene County Schools is to “Promote Lifelong Learners through Real World Experiences.”
“When you meet with teachers make sure you ask them what real world experiences they are providing students to ensure they are engaged and promoting lifelong learning. We need to work together to ensure engaging real-world learning for all students,” Christensen said.
